Intercitidina FAQ

What does Intercitidina mean?

Intercitidina is the national reunion of all Rotaract members of a country. ALL MEMBERS WHO WISH TO ATTEND TO THE BIDISTRICT CONFERENCE SHOULD ATTEND THE INTERCITIDINA.

What is the main purpose of the Intercitidina?

1) Propose changes to the ROD (Organic Regulation for the Rotaract Clubs) and BIR (Belize Intercitidina Regulations).
2) Formal postulations for: Rotaract member of the year; Best rookie member; COR; RDR; decide where will the next Intercitidina take place; decide whether or not, as a country, to take the responsibility of the organization of the next Bidistrict Conference.
3) Informal postulations: Miss Rotaract; Rey Feo; Rotasapiens candidates.

These postulations are to be taken to the Bidistrict Conference and are to be voted for or against them in the General Assembly.

When should the Intercitidina take place?
It may be held up to two months before the Bidistrict Conference. (ROD. Title I, chapter IX, art. 35-m)

Who is the one in charge to supervise that the Intercitidina is done?
The COR. (ROD. Title I, Chapter 9, Art. 35-m.)

Can all members participate?
Yes, all members can participate, because it’s a national general assembly, but only the presidents or their elect substitutes may exert vote. The rest of the members may state their opinions, but they have no vote. We recommend to each president to discuss the changes with their clubs before the Intercitidina, so that the president represents the club’s interests.

Why does OCA have the right to vote?
Each club has the right to exert only one vote. The one to give this vote in the Intercitidina is the president, or an elected voter with a letter of power. This letter is accredited by the president, and it contains the authorization to exert the vote of the club. (ROD. Title II, Chapter 1, Art. 40.).

What is the purpose of the BIR (Belize Intercitidina Regulations)?
To make a standard in the way of organizing the Intercitidina, so that it can be organized and efficient. If the country doesn’t have one, it must be made up by the actual OCA. Some essential themes to decide on this manual are:

Who’s in charge in the organization?
We recommend that the OCA members organize it, because they are the ones, at the moment, more involved, and are the ones who have more communication with other clubs.

Who’s in the principal table?
The Intercitidina board of directors and the elected voters.  OCA.

Who’s the Intercitidina board of directors?
We recommend having a president, who will be in charge of preceding the assembly, and a secretary to take notes on all the decisions taken.

How to choose the Intercitidina Board of director?
We recommend choosing them in a session of OCA before the Intercitidina. They must be members with good knowledge about Rotaract.

Definite deadline for sending curriculum?
We recommend that every candidate sends their curriculum to OCA a week before the Intercitidina, so that OCA may analyze it and compare the ones of the other candidates. This way, OCA will already have an idea to whom will their votes go for. The same goes for the changes of the ROD and BIR.

Define the agenda?
Define which postulations are going to be voted on by the General Assembly and which are going to be voted on OCA, and whether if they are going to be by open or closed votes, and what happens if there’s a tie.
